Cedar Mountain Tilemakers - Hayden
Jared Lyda, founder and co-owner of Cedar Mountain Tilemakers in Hayden has been a lifelong artist with a love of music, craftsmanship, writing and visual art. His love of art has led him to own a successful custom tile and engraving business. Jared's father, Dave, recommended he explore the possibilities of working with natural stone and in June of 2004, Cedar Mountain Tilemakers was formed.
Lyda and his business partner, David Williams, craft custom tiles handmade in the U.S. and have developed over 500 tile designs, including seven very unique collections.
Lyda first began by engraving words and pictures into natural stone. They then developed a process to overlay luxury metals, such as, bronze, copper and nickel, onto natural stone.
According to Lyda, one of the reasons for his company's success is help received from the Idaho Small Business Development Center. "The Idaho Small Business Development Center has developed me into the entrepreneur I am today," he said. "The topics the Idaho SBDC covers in their trainings along with the no-cost coaching has given me the business skill set I needed to build my business. My ongoing relationship with the Idaho SBDC is priceless."
