AgParts Manufacturing - Shelley
A new chapter for the company began in April 2005 when Ririe sold AgParts to his granddaughter and her husband, Amber and Brook Langston. Brook recognized the need to locate the manufacturing company in the midst of the Idaho potato industry. By 2006, he had relocated the manufacturing facility from Payson, Utah, to Shelley, Idaho. Additionally, Brook and Amber brought in a partner, Shane Wooten, who took the leadership role of general manager. Sales that year were approximately $860,000, with the company suffering a small loss due to the expense of the move.
Since 2006, Brook and Shane have sought the advice of the Idaho Falls SBDC. “Our consultant brought a different color of glasses when reviewing the company's financial numbers,” Shane said. He helped us focus on financial measurements that were imperative for AgParts to achieve in order to be profitable.” By 2008, sales had doubled, and the company showed a profit for the first time under new ownership.
