Atlas Frontiers Resell Management - Boise

Return

Atlas Frontiers helps hospitals and medical practitioners convert their used, but serviceable, equipment into cash.

Mason Fuller began his business in 2005 as an eBay reseller of used business equipment. He started with a computer and a small office. Today he employs seven full-time workers, is purchasing his own building and is one of the major resellers of used medical equipment in the Northwest. Several hospitals in the region use Atlas Frontiers exclusively to dispose of their used equipment.

Fuller first came to the Idaho Small Business Development Center through a joint mentoring program between SCORE and the SBDC. He was completing hundreds of small transactions for all types of businesses and barely breaking even without taking a salary for himself. Counselors advised him to focus on one industry where he could become an expert.

As an SBDC client, Fuller has had Boise State University student teams conduct studies for him. An SBA loan helped him get his financial feet on the ground, and today he is working on a 504 loan to help him refinance the building purchase. In the near future, he will welcome an MBA intern from Taiwan for a six-week stay at his business.

In 2005, Fuller’s average sale was less than $100. Today it is more than $600. Because the business is paid a percentage of the sales price, increasing the size of the average sale is one of the keys to success.

Small Business Development Centers are supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration and offer their services to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. The SBA does not endorse products, opinions or services offered by external parties.
