Telstar Associates, Inc. - Idaho Falls

Created in 1979, TelStar is a very successful information technology, programming, and managed-services firm that provides on-demand IT services to a diverse client base in both the private and public sectors.

However,  by the time Michael S. Corbit joined the company as a computer technician in 1998 
TelStar had grown stagnant. Today, 10 years later, Corbit is now Vice President/Director of Business Development and Operations and owns a controlling interest in the organization.

Under Corbit's management and direction, the financial results over the past few years have shown 50 percent growth per year.  Jose Maria Telleria, Corbit’s mentor and the current President/CEO, will soon begin the process of passing the torch.

Telleria expressed the importance that the SBA, Small Business Development Center, and SCORE have played in the evolution and success of TelStar. Both Telleria in Boise and Corbit in Idaho Falls have established close relationships with SBDC consultants. With guidance from the SBDC, and through hard work and innovation, TelStar has grown from only two employees in 1979 to more than 30 in 2008.

In 1997, TelStar received loan assistance through the SBA. Formerly a Small Business Administration certified 8(a) firm, Tel Star is currently in the process of filing an application with the SBA for SDB certification status.

This minority-owned, veteran-owned firm has demonstrated recognized service to its community by membership and participation in the Chambers of Commerce of Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Boise.
