Molly Maid of West Ada County - Boise

Molly Maid of West Ada County, the only Molly Maid franchise in Idaho, is a residential cleaning company serving approximately 250 clients in the Treasure Valley. The service is customized to the specific needs of the customer and includes most traditional house-cleaning tasks.
 
Enrique and Stephanie Camarillo, the parents of two daughters, decided to purchase the existing franchise to add flexibility to their lives. Enrique, a computer engineer, and Stephanie, who worked in state government and international business, worked with the Idaho Small Business Development Center to search for a business to purchase, eventually settling on Molly Maid.

Idaho SBDC consultant Kevin Learned helped them evaluate business opportunities and advised them on structuring the purchase and financing.

Owning a service business in a tight economic market has been a challenge. The Camarillos have differentiated their business through outstanding service, environmentally friendly products, partnerships with local community organizations and good marketing. As a result, sales have grown steadily during their first 10 months in business, now up approximately 30 percent. Employment has remained steady at 14 employees, but productivity has increased.

The Camarillos continue to meet regularly with Learned. He has helped with their business plan, financial projections, establishing a business support network, and focusing on the right things at the right time.  He also reads and helps them interpret their financial reports, and plan for future growth.

“We can’t begin to explain the gratitude that we have to Kevin and the SBDC for their support,” Stephanie said. “They have provided guidance, knowledge and sometimes just an understanding ear when we felt desperate and like we couldn’t go on. We owe much of our success to the quality of the SBDC’s programs and the dedication of their outstanding staff.”
