Roosters Auto Care - Boise

David Currier had considerable experience in the automotive industry, having served as the service manager for the largest automobile dealership in Idaho. In 2006, he approached the Region III Idaho SBDC office in Boise for assistance in purchasing an automotive transmission shop located on a major intersection between Boise and Meridian. He had done his homework well, but needed advice on how to structure an offer which was both suitable to the seller and within his price range and financing capability. He met with the SBDC on many occasions, developing both the offer and a business plan to present to the bank. 

In 2007, his dream became a reality, with the purchase of the business assets, including the building and the equipment. Roosters Auto Care now specializes in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, and has been a very successful acquisition. Currier’s experience in working with car lots, dealers, fleet managers and related larger vehicle groups provided the initial volume in daily work needed to help his transformation from a transmission shop to a full-service repair facility.

In only a few months following the acquisition, Roosters Auto Care reached sound operating profitability and growing brand recognition. Currier’s dream of leaving the corporate environment and developing his own entrepreneurial enterprise has been very successful. His desire to build something of commercial value for himself, while continuing to offer his skill, dedication and experience to the market he served for so long, was the catalyst for his venture.
