ML Technologies - St. Anthony

Fred Miasaki, President of ML Technologies, recently packed up his growing company and moved it back to his hometown of St. Anthony in rural Fremont County. Since relocating, Fred has transformed his company into a successful enterprise that has positively impacted the local economy.

ML Technologies is a high-tech computer company focusing primarily on government sales, including computer hardware and software. Fred recently redirected part of ML Technologies' energies toward the private sector, including call centers, technical support and training.

ML Technologies' success has garnered the attention of Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne, the Idaho Department of Commerce, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo and many other state and local officials. ML Technologies has also located an additional office in Idaho Falls and is currently planning further expansions.

A few recent factors gave significant support the company’s current success. Major indirect support came when the city of St. Anthony received a $500,000 economic development grant to help build the necessary infrastructure in support of ML Technologies' expansion, including building construction, enhancements and parking upgrades.

The Idaho Small Business Development Center helped ML Technologies obtain a $20,000 grant from Bechtel BBWI in support of the creation of 60 new jobs in 2001. The SBDC has also supported the development of the Eastern Idaho High-Tech Corridor, which will further impact high-speed Internet access to businesses such as ML Technologies.

Currently, Miasaki's company is experiencing phenomenal growth and opportunities.
