Body by Scotty - Post Falls

With a growing body shop operating out of their backyard, Body by Scotty owners Scott Shawver and Sharon Sorenson were faced with a decision. What had originally started as a part-time endeavor had grown into a full-time profession. Soon, not even a bigger shop built in 1988 could contain all their business. Should they use the money they had painstakingly been saving to build the house of their dreams, or invest it in a new shop in town? Trusting in the flip of a coin, they moved their business into Post Falls, where they opened a brand new shop in 1995. A large addition in 2000 as well as a new office in 2001 followed.

As Sharon and Scott’s business grew, so did their need for more business knowledge. The couple completed the Idaho Small Business Development Center's NxLeveL entrepreneurial training program and continue to work with the SBDC business consultant on other business issues.

Their efforts have paid off with a booming business and growing respect in the community. Named “Business of the Year” for 2000 by the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, they were also named “Volunteer of the Month” in September 2001.

Active community members, Shawver and Sorenson host a huge block party each year to say “thank you.” Their philosophy is to provide a fun, safe, and friendly experience for everyone. The pair truly believes that by giving back to the community in this way they can show their appreciation to all those who have helped make them successful.
