Nick Smith joined the law school faculty in 2022 as the director of the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic and assistant professor of law. He earned a J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota.

Professor Smith was a judicial law clerk for both the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His private practice experience focused on business and real estate transactions. Immediately prior to joining the faculty, Professor Smith was an associate general counsel of a Boise-based technology company that went public during his tenure there.
